Welcome

A Mouse In The House

As we sat in the living room one night

I saw an unusual site,

For in the seventeen years we lived here,

I had never had this fear.

A mouse scampered across the kitchen floor,

So we quickly blocked that door,

So he couldn't enter the living room,

But would soon meet his doom.

We used to have a kitty named "Cutie";

"Mouse-catching" was her duty.

But now Ralph baited two mouse traps with cheese,

And we retired for the night in ease.

It wasn't long at all before I heard a snap,

And then a little bitty tap...

Our little friend had met his doom

His end had come, and that quite soon!

Our house is tiny, has only four rooms, you see,

It's big enough for our family, friends, and Ralph and me,

But field mice can find a home in a field as their house,

For I refuse to share my house with a mouse!
