Goodbye England's Rose,
May you ever grow in our hearts.
You were the grace that placed
itself,
Where lives were torn apart.
You called out to our country,
And whispered to those in pain.
Now you belong to heaven.
And the stars spell out your
name.
And it seems to me, you,
Lived your life like a candle in the
wind.
Never fading with the sunset,
When the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall
here,
Along England's greenest hills.
Your candle burned out long,
Before your legend ever will.
Loveliness we've lost,
These empty days without your
smile.
This torch we'll always carry,
For our nation's golden child.
And even tough we try,
The truth brings us to tears.
All words cannot express,
The joy you brought us through the
years.
Goodbye England's Rose,
From a country lost without your
soul.
Who'll miss the wings of your
compassion,
More than you'll ever know.
Do not stand at my grave and
weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints upon the
snow.
I am the gentle autumn rain,
When you awaken in the morning
hush.
I am the swift uplifting rush,
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at
night,
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there,
I did not die.
These lyrics were sang by Elton John,
At the funeral of Lady Di
An angel was looking for a perfect gift to give
to God.
He spied a beautiful English Rose standing
nearby,
He knew this rose would be missed by
all.
But what a treasure this rose would be in the
sky,
To grace the altar of Heaven for
eternity.
In loving memory of Lady Di:
1961-1997
